Dr. Grace Shaban has dedicated her career to serving her community in Msongozi, Tanzania. However, the lack of electricity at her rural health center posed significant challenges, especially during nighttime patient care. The Abt-led Power Africa Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance is helping doctors like Dr. Shaban focus on patient care by electrifying 24 healthcare facilities in Tanzania with reliable, renewable energy. The USAID Mongolia Energy Governance Activity is building broad coalitions around politically sensitive reforms and promoting self-reliance by bolstering energy sector governance.
eGRID is the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) comprehensive public source of data on the environmental characteristics of almost all electric power generated in the U.S. For nearly 12 years, Abt has worked closely with EPA to develop and update eGRID while transforming its website and accompanying tools to help decision-makers use and visualize accurate power and emissions data. 
In collaboration with Save the Children UK and our partners, Abt hosted an engaging learning and networking side event during London Climate Action Week, featuring two discussions with leading experts on gender, education, inclusion, and finance in the climate space. Our panelists represented 16 time zones, with participants from Barbados, India, Australia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Watch the recordings!

We proudly sponsored the National Adaptation Forum (NAF), a biennial gathering for experts to network and discuss current and emerging climate adaptation concerns. Our climate and environment experts presented findings from our climate adaptation work with Indigenous peoples, as well as the impacts of extreme heat on human health.
