Young people today are entering a world where green skills are essentially required for their employment, entrepreneurial, or civic potential. Dr. Nicole Goldin and her AIYD Policy Co-Chair Rachel Clement, ChildFund dive into how green skills are becoming a core element of positive youth development, and how investments in young people can enable them to foster a more resource-efficient and sustainable society.

Smallholder farmers in Upper Egypt are challenged with not fully benefiting from the growing demand for fruits and vegetables in international markets, while the war in Ukraine and weather events expose vulnerabilities and shortfalls of global food supplies. Abt is implementing a buyer-led approach to integrate these farmers into premium horticulture markets, supporting wheat and grain production aiming to improve Egypt’s climate-smart agriculture industry by boosting farmers’ incomes, creating jobs, enhancing water-use efficiency, and leveraging partnerships.
