Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project

Smallholder farmers in Upper Egypt are challenged with not fully benefiting from the growing demand for fruits and vegetables in international markets, while the war in Ukraine and weather events expose vulnerabilities and shortfalls of global food supplies. Abt is implementing a buyer-led approach to integrate these farmers into premium horticulture markets, supporting wheat and grain production aiming to improve Egypt’s climate-smart agriculture industry by boosting farmers’ incomes, creating jobs, enhancing water-use efficiency, and leveraging partnerships.
