As we welcome a new year, our latest issue of TA&I Connect is bittersweet. Caroline was recently named Vice President of Abt’s Global Business Unit to lead expansion of Abt’s portfolio of TA&I work in health sectors and beyond. We look forward to highlighting her new work and projects in the future. While growth means change, our core approach to inclusive, equitable TA&I is steadfast. We welcome your feedback on a new resource that describes how we ensure equity in the work that we do, as well as any other ideas or input you have to share.
Equity is the cornerstone of our work. It infuses all phases of our technical assistance project lifecycle. Additionally, we adapt Human-Centered Design, Appreciative Inquiry, and Community-Based Participatory Research methods for technical solutioning. "Low-carbon, climate-resilient economies are imperative for the future, as is providing quality health care and financial well-being,” said Chief Climate Officer Eric Reading of our new alliance with USAID/Power Africa and private sector partners. Through HETA, health facilities across sub-Saharan Africa will have lighting, refrigeration, and internet powered by renewable energy.
We helped the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau update its strategic plan. Building on that effort, Abt and our partners will now help with its implementation.
